Women's Football Clinic!

Travis Bright
Today Rachel, Kelsi and I had the opportunity to attend the fourth annual BYU Women’s Football Clinic!  Now to many this may not seem like a big deal, but we have had this day blocked out on our calendars for months now, haha.  But seriously, we are pretty excited, and let me tell ya, we had a GREAT time!  It was so fun!  We started out getting a tour of the locker room and press box at LaVell Edwards Stadium, where we found Kane’s locker.

We looked for Naki’s and Munnsie’s but of course because they aren’t playing this year, they no longer have a locker reserved for them.  But we did find Kane’s locker with some help from one our my new favorite people- Wayne Latu.  This guy is HILARIOUS!!  Seriously, the whole time he was cracking jokes and making everyone laugh.  But we continued our tour with
Parker Mangum
And David Nixon
leading us through the chaos of a million crazy women trying to take pictures of EVERYTHING.  Let’s be honest, it’s pretty cool to see the player’s lockers and stuff and try and get into the game day mode, but taking pictures of EVERY empty locker is overdoing it, don’t ya think?  It was pretty weird.  I mean, I almost felt like I was surrounded by a bunch of thirteen year old girls drooling over Hannah Montana or something.  I love BYU football and all, but when you are married and have 3 kids with one on the way, its just a little weird to be obsessing over a college kid who is ten years younger than you.  Crazy.  Anyway, back to the clinic.  So after our little tour, we had a little question and answer session with the coaches and players.

Coach Reynolds giving us a pep talk!
It was interesting, but nothing really new.  Some of the “crazies” were getting annoying by this point as they were begging the players to do the haka and asking weird pointless questions.  But it was really fun and I have gained a LOT of respect for Coach Mendenhall.  I always liked the guy, but he is AWeSOME!  Sounds like he runs a retty good program and has his head on straight.  He is very wise  I bet he know a lot of random facts. Like he’d be the type of a guy you would call for your lifeline on Who Wants to be a Millionaire.  But I was very impressed and wished I could have sat down and talked with him for a while.

Brandon Doman was really cool.  We wanted to take this picture to send to Munnsie, and when he found out we know Munns, Coach Doman got excited and talked about how he recruited Munns and that he was a good kid.
Basically we had an awesome time and it was SO much fun!  I would totally do it again next year!

Yay! I am so glad you have a blog. Love it. Now I have a fellow obsessed blogger in the family (besides my sisters). Your blog is so cute. Well done. Oh and I do have my claim to fame...David Nixon let me borrow his pencil once in our Comms 101 class...

Because you sound like a football fan, be sure to check out my new book called "Game-Day Goddess: Learning Football's Lingo." The book is available from Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com. For those who want to learn about football painlessly, this is the amusing, informative book for you.
