First off, Happy Valentine's Day!
I think I have you all beat with the most/best valentines, as I got mine from 5 year olds. It can't be better than that :)
Anyway,
Secrets are a big deal in Kindergarten.
Everyone has one.
Everyone WANTS to have one,
so therefore, everyone SAYS they have one.
It makes for great entertainment, really, and always provides for some good laughs.
Most of them at least.
There are some that could go without sharing though, in my opinion.
Example:
"I have a secret! It's really really REALLY good!! Miss Diana, you are the only one that can know. It's a good secret. You're going to love it. Only me and Miss Diana can know."
me: Okay, whisper it in my ear
*for the record, five year olds are very INCAPABLE of whispering.
"Okay, I pick my boogars and ear wax, and eat it. And I like it!"
me: wow. that is gross. no, really. that isn't a secret. you just shouldn't do that....uh....yikes.
Really I didn't know what to say. Luckily we were decorating Valentine's cookies and I just loaded up the plate with more M&M's which always makes the kids forget what they are talking about.

Haha! That is a great secret. Gotta love them! haha
That was hilarious! If that is ever a secret of your five year old nephew then you better share it with his mom. All your stories make me miss teaching! Teaching Kindergarten is very busy, but so worth the entertainment. I'm so glad they have a teacher like you.
