Pasifika Festival

This weekend was the big Pasifika Festival here in Auckland. Basically, this is like the PCC on steroids. What I mean is, that every country in the Pacific is represented in a certain area of Western Springs Park. In their area, there is a stage where they have many performances and entertainment from their culture/country. The main reason people come though.....FOOD. I think it is more of a marketing type event rather than a learning event, but that was all part of the experience. I like the PCC better. Less people, more informative, and you don't have bible bashers approach you trying to fight with you about your religion (true story).
No joke though, the food was fabulous. This was my favorite of the day: Pineapple and ice cream. That really is half of a pineapple with ice cream piled on top. SO GOOD
In case you didn't get it the first time....this was my favorite.
Anyway, it was great to go to and get a feel of the culture. There were thousands of people there....it was so packed! It was cool to see such great support for it though. And yes, the bible bashers stopped us, found out we were lds and tried to debate with us about how the BOM is false and trying to show us references that contradict the bible. We just got to the point where we bore our testimony and said we believe what we believe and you can believe whatever you want, but we know this to be true and you can't change our minds (I guess being stubborn isn't all that bad after all, eh mom?) It was good though because we were able to hold firm and it helped solidify our beliefs in a way. So, overall, not a bad experience....it was something to grow from!
